GENERAL PURPOSE: The Software Engineer of Mobile Applications will be part of a team developing and optimizing consumer and corporate applications for the maritime industry. Reporting to software engineering lead, the candidate will work largely independently and have the ability to be self-managed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Architect, design, and code mobile applications for a variety of mobile platforms
? Capable of writing server side code
? Rapid creation of product prototypes and demos
? Creation of robust high-volume applications
? Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: This position reports to the Chief Innovation Officer and will interact with all levels of internal and external contacts.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications
? Experience with iOS development
? Strong foundation of software engineering, data structures, etc
? Experience in agile development
? Experience in Linux-based environment
? Excellent coding skills in C, C++, Java, or Objective-C
Desired Qualifications
? Experience with additional mobile OS ? Android, WebOS, etc.
? Graphics design skills/ Strong aesthetic sensibility
? Experience in working in a cloud-based client/server environment
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: Office and field environment. Some travel may be required domestically and internationally. Extensive computer work.
