Everyday Health is hiring! We are looking for a talented and passionate .NET Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Premium Services division. This division focuses on providing our consumers with information and access to online tools & mobile apps for health living focused around weight loss, diabetes management and fitness. This fast-growing division includes websites and apps for brands such as Southbeachdiet, JillianMichaels and Mayoclinic.
The Software Engineer will have the ability to communicate complex concepts in a concise manner to both technical and non-technical staff and must not be afraid to propose solutions that will challenge the status quo! Key Responsibilities and Meaures
Communicate complex concepts in a concise manner to technical and non-technical staff
Propose efficient technical solutions
Communicate statues effectively with IT management
Assist the Development Manager with task management when necessary
Become a subject matter expert on the projects they work on, allowing other IT members to look to them as a knowledgeable member of the team
Main Job Dimensions required (Technical Knowledge and Behavorial Dimensions)
Experience collaborating with design and development teams on large-scale projects
Excellent presentation and writing skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Brings revolutionary ideas to the table and encourages others to do the same
Willing to challenge design ideas when other opportunities exist to solve a problem
Self-motivated, needing little guidance on completing their assignments on time and within budget
At least 3-4 years professional experience in .NET 3.5 Framwork and C#
Strong knowledge of complex Object Oriented concepts and design patterns
Strong knowledge of WCF and its use in creating service-oriented applications
Strong knowledge of database design and development and SQL/T-SQL
Experience using MVC 3.0
Experience using LINQ (LINQ-to-Objects, LINQ-to-SQL, etc.
Experience in SQL Server 2005 & 2008
Knowledge of Agile SDLC methodologies is a plus!
