Our Software Engineers are the technical building blocks of the MetraTech Engineering team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their software and its immediate impact with our customers. This position will play a key role in evolving MetraNet products and contributing to the overall software development life-cycle. This is a very hands-on role with requirements analysis, design, coding, and automation responsibilities.
The position success factors are problem solving skills combined with the fundamentals that are required to develop production quality code. We?re looking for problem solvers who are comfortable in an agile environment. Using your applications design, coding, and database integration skills is an opportunity to contribute in your first year to major, highly visible MetraTech software product improvements. Be part of the transformation of our existing but constrained development and release processes with new continuous improvement, integration, and delivery / deployments.
Be a respected member of a team of highly motivated and experienced software professionals building first-class Web-based billing and relationship monetization software.
Work closely and collaboratively with MetraNet?s architects, DBAs and production support operations teams.
Work collaboratively with product owners defining new features for the product and also contribute to the maintenance existing ones.
Demonstrate willingness to learn. Make measurable contributions to the continuous improvement of the software development framework and processes.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in accomplishing assignments and delivering solutions consistent with company goals and end user?s expectations.
Bring and promote a strong agile and DevOps mindset to the company.
0-2 years of development experience with a track record of technical competence, resilient code, and maintainable software.
Ability to perform general software programming tasks?software coding, debugging, documentation, and testing ? as a member of an agile development team (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (Sql Server, Oracle) is a plus.
Familiarity with .NET 4.x, C#; knowledge of C++/COM+ is a plus.
Familiarity with WCF, SOAP, Restful API, ASP.NET MVC Application is a plus.
Ability to collaborate with developers and automated test teams to identify logical extension points for automated testing, post-build smoke tests, and gated build processes.
Appreciation for good source control and clean builds is a requisite. We use SVN, Github, CruiseControl, and Jenkins.
Ability to work with virtual environments (eg VMWare, vSphere).
Ability to work in an environment which is running multiple concurrent agile teams.
BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. MS preferred.
