You qualify for a WhitePages internship if
You have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or similar field (or will have it within 6 months);
You are passionate about learning, want to work hard as part of a small team, and want to participate in developing software that follows engineering best practices;
You have a basic understanding of the software development life cycle;
You can show us that you can write clean code that works;
You have a working knowledge of at least one of: Ruby, Java, Python, Perl, C/C++/C;
You have a familiarity with one or more web development frameworks;
You have some experience working with OO development methodologies;
You have some basic knowledge of and practical experience with CSS, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript and/or ActionScipt OR some basic knowledge of and practical experience with database development using Postgres, MySQL and/or Oracle; and
You completed one or more internships during the pursuit of your degree.
You get bonus points if
You have experience developing in a UNIX or Linux environment; and/or,
You have an understanding of one or more areas of relevance: search engine design, people search, distributed computing, database optimization, artificial intelligence, machine learning, messaging, social networking, mobile applications or web design.
