PulsePoint is a mature online advertising startup headquartered in NYC that?s looking for developers who are: smart, get things done, communicate well, understand computer science, take pride in engineering, and want a place to grow in an interesting industry. We have an experienced team that would be a great fit for a recent graduate, or someone who?s been working for a bit and is looking for somewhere to grow. The company is small enough you know everyone?s name and can have a direct impact, but big enough that you don?t have to do everything yourself.
Some major projects the team is currently working on: continuing to scale our core platform, honing the intelligence of our optimization, reducing the feedback loop for business intelligence, configuration automation, automated testing. Currently, the PulsePoint Exchange:
handles tens of thousands of simultaneous requests per second, billions of times each month
evaluates, selects, and optimizes ad-serving based on advanced statistical and machine-learning models
returns responses collected from dozens of parties in milliseconds
is always evolving to meet market demands that change in days and weeks, not months and years
incorporates thousands of datapoints into every serving decision
If working in an agile shop with a team of top-flight engineers building the system described above sounds interesting, some things that you should know:
What we look for in developers:
Problem solving and critical thinking
Communication and inter-personal skills
Mastery of algorithms, data structures and performance
Knowledge of Internet technologies/and protocols
Skills with the Java language, platform, and understanding of underlying concepts and constructs
B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering (or professional experience)
