Summary:
As a member of the Panasas Core Functionality team, you will be working on the PanFS storage operating system, an object based network attached storage system. Working with other engineers, you will design and implement features that enhance robustness, performance, and functionality of the system, and debug and fix critical customer issues. The successful candidate will be a high energy problem solver who enjoys working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
Experience/ Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years industry experience developing network, storage or high performance computing related software products.
Experience in C/C++ and using multi-threading / parallel programming, distributed systems, asynchronous programming and/ or fault-tolerance techniques is required.
Strong debugging skills are required, with a track record of troubleshooting and solving complex systems-level problems.
Experience analyzing performance data to pinpoint and fix customer performance problems.
Experience examining benchmarking results to isolate and fix root cause.
A strong candidate will be proficient in at least one of these areas:
Network file systems and their protocols (NFS, CIFS, AFS, etc.).
Linux or FreeBSD kernel level development; kernel file system calls; virtual memory management, caching and scheduling; Linux or FreeBSD operating systems fundamentals.
Knowledge of SAN & NAS storage paradigms is a plus.
Must be goal-oriented and self-directed and able to flourish in a team-oriented development environment.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
