Software Engineer (Performance Testing)
Solera Networks is seeking a software quality assurance engineer in our South Jordan, UT office to test our Linux-based network capture server. Successful applicants will demonstrate a "can-do" attitude and an ability to rise to any challenge and succeed. They will have a track record of delivering results, a strong aptitude for testing, and a high level of initiative. Strong preference will be given to engineers with test automation and network security experience.
Job Descriptions & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scripts to test functionality and performance
Verify hardware platforms via automated and manual testing
Exercise the integration of hardware and software system components
Conduct performance, scalability and feature testing of appliance
Document test cases, test results and performance benchmarks
Troubleshoot and root-cause bugs in complex configurations
Other duties as assigned or needed
Required Skills:
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and produce descriptive bug reports
Ability to interact positively and pro-actively with other team members
Networking configuration
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical degree or experience
Preferred Experience:
Selenium, Ruby, PHP, Python or other scripting languages
Systems software testing which includes development of test automation
Network security expertise
Selenium PHP expertise
Packet capture and analysis (Wireshark)
Configuration of disk subsystems (RAID, JBOD, SAN)
Linux expertise
