As a software engineer at SendGrid, you will work on a small, versatile and passionate team, tackling new problems as we continue to push our technology forward. You will design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions that solve developers' problems at-scale. You will have the opportunity to write mission-critical code that enables us to achieve our goal of simplifying communication between businesses and their customers.
Although we do send 1% of the world's non-spam email, SendGrid is much more than an email company, and our mission has much greater scope. To handle transactional messaging at-scale requires expertise from nearly every area of computer science. Our engineers work on many projects that carry varying responsibilities. Below are some examples of the diverse projects with which you might be involved:
Develop new, innovative, scalable web applications & APIs that have millions of hits per day
Build highly dynamic and personalized applications for our customers, that will be the foundation of all future web applications
Build and enhance products that empowers businesses to share exciting news, events, and offers with their customers
Develop distributed applications that scale dynamically in the cloud
Research new technologies to make platforms faster
Work with our global team of web engineers
Contribute ideas to improve our service and software
Continued growth through developer conferences and technical training
Requirements:
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
Extensive programming experience in Ruby, PHP, Java or Python (strong OO skills preferred)
Several years of large systems software design and development experience, with extensive knowledge of Linux
A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture
Experience with service oriented architecture and highly scalable services
Write clean, efficient code
