Software Engineer - Python/HTML5 nCircle Network Security

Overview:

nCircle Network Security has an immediate opening in our Alpharetta, GA office for a Software Engineer to join a team developing and maintaining security and compliance software. This role will be responsible for developing substantial new features and maintaining existing code. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly productive, and able to jump into a complex database-driven reporting product and rapidly make major contributions. Very strong programming expertise is required.

We use Agile software development. We are in the process of moving from programming in a combination of C#, Adobe Flex and Perl to Python and HTML5. We are currently interested in PostgreSQL, Oracle and SQL Server performance optimization and shrink wrapped delivery of data warehouses that use dimensional modeling. You will not have a PHB. We are not interested in your precise list of skills, but it is crucial that you can demonstrate your expertise, ability to adapt and deep interest in programming and complex problem solving.
Specific Responsibilities:

Design and implement new functionality
Assume responsibility for code quality and sprint/iteration commitments
Diagnose and resolve product bugs identified by customer support and QA
Work directly with customers to resolve complex support issues
Engage and participate on an Agile team of a world class software developers

Required Skills and Experience

BS or equivalent experience
3+ years' experience developing commercial software products
Complete mastery of Python, C, C++, C#, or Java
Complete mastery of SQL
Experience with Agile software development is a plus
Experience building database driven applications
Experience with security software is a plus
Experience with Adobe Flex is a plus
Experience with scripting languages such as Perl is a plus
Experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server is a plus
Experience with data warehouse and dimensional models is a plus
Experience with test-driven development and unit testing is a plus
Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, fast-growth environment where action and initiative are prerequisites to performing well
