Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) Bleacher Report
Bleacher Report is one of the five largest sports media sites on the Web and one of the most exciting startups in San Francisco. We are a venture-backed media company on the forefront of the evolution taking place in digital publishing. We are also extremely passionate about sports and creating a new paradigm that allows thousands of people create great sports content around the teams and topics they too are passionate about.
What you'll do:
Build and launch new features for the Bleacher Report platform.
Work closely with Product Managers to understand requirements and come up with solutions.
Learn the challenges of operating and maintaining a high-volume Rails site.
Work closely with a top-notch engineering team.

What you need to demonstrate:
1+ years solid experience developing Ruby on Rails applications.
Minimum 3 years track record of successful web application development and implementation.
Disciplined approach to software development, Test Driven Development, and Agile methodology.
Experience with testing frameworks, preferably RSpec.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON and MySQL.
Experience with jQuery.
Aggressive at refactoring / rewriting old code for efficiency and scalability.
Working hard is ok; having fun doing it is even more ok.
BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Bonus points for:
Successful start-up experience.
Contributor to an open source project.
Worked on a high-traffic website, general optimization and scalability skills.
Understanding of MySql tuning and optimization techniques.
Familiar with using GitHub.
Interested in sports journalism and writing.
