Software Engineer Federated Media Publishing

Federated Media is looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer to build innovative ad products for our media and marketing partners, and create robust operational tools that help scale our business.

Responsibilities:
Build high performance web applications using PHP/MySQL and related technologies
Define and implement high quality operational tools
Create 3rd party web apps and ad products
Optimize performance of our web applications (profiling, refactoring, redesigning)
Drive features through the project lifecycle from discovery, to implementation, to user acceptance
Write clean, efficient, reusable code that the rest of the team can understand and adopt

Requirements:
Strong Computer Science fundamentals
Mastery of PHP, MySQL, and related technologies
Experience identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
Knowledge of design patterns and their consequences
MySQL schema design and optimization
Efficient with Unix operating systems and the command line environment
Ability to clearly communicate software design
Strong desire to expand and improve your software engineering skills

Pluses:
Familiarity with ad products and internet marketing
You have external, non-work related passion projects
Open source project contributions
