Overview of Role
viagogo the international ticket exchange is growing quickly and is looking to hire intelligent, talented, and fun people to help expand our growing North American business out of San Francisco.
The Software Engineer will take on software projects critical to the growth and success of the company. The Engineers role will be to build, improve, and oversee software tools to help with the business, including improving in-house inventory systems, integrating with partners, and creating data analytics tools. Projects will range from quick-and-dirty tools to full-scale system implementations.
This role offers a unique opportunity for candidates to take on big responsibilities and directly affect our success. You will be one of the first few technology employees in North America, and you'll be responsible for executing on local projects. You'll build on your strengths, develop new skills, and be part of the core team that expands viagogo's growing presence in North America. Throughout it all, you'll work with fun people who are committed to helping fans gain access to tickets to the best live events in the world

Located in or around the San Francisco Bay Area, or desire to live in the Bay Area. Note that we cannot assist with relocation.
Work authorization in the US preferred
Responsibilities:
Work with a team of high-quality engineers to design, create, and maintain software applications.
Provide operational support of tools and websites that handle thousands of transactions per day.
Required Experience / Skills:
Hands-on experience creating Web applications using modern development languages (.NET/Java/Python/Ruby/PHP) and data storage systems.
General knowledge of multi-tier application architectures.
Passion for seeking out and learning new technologies and ways of thinking outside of daily job requirements.
Desire to be part of a ground-up effort and see your solutions impact the world for the better.
Desired Experience / Skills:
C programming skills and web development experience using the .NET Framework 4.0
Experience building applications using ASP.NET, WPF/Silverlight or WinForms and SQL Server.
Familiarity with architectural practices such as MVVM/MVP/MVC, Inversion of Control, Dependency Injection, SOA, and ORM with technologies such as the Entity Framework or nHibernate.
Some experience with source control systems, e.g., TFS/SVN including branching, merging, and/or continuous integration.
