About the Position:

SecondMarket is seeking experienced professionals for opportunities in our technology area to work as Software Engineers. As a Software Engineer, you will design, build and maintain
SecondMarket's applications. Software Engineers work as part of a Scrum Team with a Product Owner, Scrum Master, UX Designer and other engineers to develop, test and deploy code on a weekly basis. SecondMarkets platform is built on Amazon Web Services, Java+Spring MVC, Scala+Lift, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, ActiveMQ, Camel, and SOLR.

Desired Skills for the Position:

Experience with Scala and related frameworks like Lift, Play or Akka
Experience with PostgreSQL (preferred), MySQL or other relational database technologies
Experience with MongoDB (preferred) or other no-sql data store technologies
Experience with SOLR/Lucene (preferred)
Experience architecting, building and scaling complex, asynchronous systems
Experience building RESTful web services (preferred) or SOAP interfaces that use JSON or XML for communication
Experience with ActiveMQ (preferred), Camel or other message broker technologies
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proven track record building large software products
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience working in an agile and product focused organization
Experience working with Scrum Methodology (preferred)
BS, BE or MS in Computer Science or related field preferred, but not required
