Description:We are looking for strong Linux/BSD/Unix developers interested in applying their skills to develop server-side applications to deliver data to/from cutting-edge interactive television applications.
These positions require strong technical skills and the desire and ability to work within a talented engineering team. Experience with any Interactive TV platform is a plus.
The specific responsibilities of a Software Engineer are:
Design and develop software as defined in Requirements Specifications
Document software design
Review software design
Maintain existing software
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
At least 3 years software development experience
Experience developing for unix-like operating systems, such as Linux, BSD or equivalent
Experience scripting for unix-like operating systems, good understanding of gnu utilities
Programming experience in PHP, including object oriented features, and common patterns
Experience developing database applications, including MySQL, or equivalent DBMS
Experience developing web applications, and web services, preferably on Apache server
Ability to quickly take ownership of sections of code
Excellent communication skills
Experience in any of the following areas would be a plus:
Experience with or understanding of grid/cluster/distributed computing (Hadoop)
Experience with or understanding of distributed file systems (Gluster or equivalent)
Programming experience with C, C/C++, Java, JavaScript
Interactive TV data transport formats (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, OpenStreamer, DSM-CC)
Interactive TV software (including PowerTV, OpenTV, VxWorks, VRTX, OCAP, EBIF)
Programming experience with IP Networking (UDP/TCP-IP)
Programming experience with internet protocols such as HTTP and FTP
Apache module development
Experience with Tomcat
Experience with Jasper reports
Windows UI development experience (preferably MFC or .NET).
