GENERAL PURPOSE: The Software Engineer-Server Development candidate will have proven experience in architect, design, and code server-side systems for Web and mobile applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Architect, design, and code server-side systems to support Web and mobile applications
? Develop and deploy with automated test systems in a devops organization
? Rapid creation of product prototypes and demos
? Creation of robust high-volume applications
? Reporting to software engineering manager, but largely independent and self-managed
? Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: This position reports to the Chief Innovation Officer and will interact with all levels of internal and external contacts.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications
? Experience with server-side engineering
? Strong foundation of software engineering, data structures, etc
? Experience in agile development
? Experience in Linux-based environment
? Excellent coding skills in Ruby, Java, Scala, or other web/mobile-oriented coding languages/frameworks
? Experience with devops
Desired Qualifications
? Development in cloud computing environments
? Development with noSQL
? Strong IP networking skills
? Open source experience
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: Office and field environment. Some travel may be required domestically and internationally. Extensive computer work.
