Summary
As a member of the solutions team you will be working on the design, development and maintenance of solutions that will be built from scratch on top of award winning high-performance parallel storage from Panasas. These solutions will help Panasas Storage to operate more effectively in domains such as disaster recovery, business continuity, virtualization and Hadoop.
Responsibilities
This position requires person to be hands-on in coding, bug fixing and unit testing software products.
Take complete responsibilities of one or more features and design, develop, unit test and maintain them throughout lifecycle of the product release.
Develop unit and system tests and execute them prior to handing off code to the QA team
Participate in the end-to-end analysis of the system?s performance.
Resolve bugs found by QA and in the field.
Work with Service team to make sure those new features can be easily maintained and serviced.
Participate in the training of QA and the service teams on new features that have been developed by the team.
Work on high priority/critical issues found at customer sites.
Experience/Qualifications
5-8 years industry experience developing storage-related software products is required, preferably in data replication, backup/restore domain.
Extensive knowledge of C/C++, in-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux internals and excellent design and programming skills are required.
Ability to develop and debug scripts using PERL, Python and TCL/TK is required.
Prior hands-on experience in disaster recovery, data replication, backup/restore is MUST
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMWARE, CITRIX, HYPER-V) and/or Hadoop is desired.
Strong problem solving skills, strong debugging ability in both live debugging and dump analysis, are required.
Knowledge of SAN & NAS storage paradigms and knowledge of Object Storage are plusses.
Prior experience with VAAI or VASA APIs from VMWARE will have added advantage
Must be an excellent team-player and should have excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Requirements:
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science.
