Summary
As a senior member of the System Engineering software team you will be working on the design and development of various software components in the system. You will be the domain expert on storage system products on various Panasas platforms. You will also be working closely with architects/CTO to influence, formulate and design the next-generation technologies for Panasas.
Responsibilities
As a senior member of the team, advise the manager in requirements gathering, task definition, schedule tracking and quality control.
Take the technical lead role in the design and development of Design and Develop of new functionality. Responsible for the technical integrity of the software solutions.
Spend significant portion of the time to conduct hands-on development work
Leading by example, assist the manager in ensuring the long-term product quality and maintainability, process conformance and high team morale.
Work with the manager and the team to resolve customer issues from the field.
Coach and help other engineers in the team with technical issues.
Participate in the training of QA and the service teams on new features that have been developed by the team.
Experience/Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years industry experience developing storage-related software products is required, with a minimum of 3 years in technical leadership role.
Extensive knowledge of C/C++, in-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix internals and excellent design and programming skills are required.
Experience in kernel level development, Storage/Network drivers for Ethernet, Infiniband, or SAS/SATA/SCSI, multi-threading / parallel programming are required, preferably on FreeBSD/Linux.
Strong problem solving skills, strong debugging ability in both live debugging and dump analysis, are required.
Knowledge of SAN & NAS storage paradigms, knowledge of Object Storage, and experience with NFS v4.1are plusses.
Must be an excellent team-player.
Requirements:
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
