Location: Santa Barbara, CA or Anywhere for the right candidate
Eucalyptus is looking for a motivated Software Engineer with solid knowledge of Java and enterprise storage to work in a passionate team that produces enterprise infrastructure software.
Responsibilities
Primarily coding and debugging our Storage Controller and Walrus components.
Work with product management to understand customer requirements, as well as provide technical input.
Actively participate in design of our products.
Work with other members of the storage engineering team on design, code reviews, etc.
Seek out information and learn new technology when needed.
Proactively track and communicate your deliverables.
Work with quality engineering, release engineering, and documentation towards a complete solution.
Requirements
Computer Science background, Masters or equivalent industry experience preferred: BS + 10 years, MS + 5 years or PhD.
Passion and desire to be part of a team responsible for producing high quality enterprise software.
Expert at programming in Java.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
Well versed in scripting and scripting languages such as python and bash
Well versed in source control management software, such as git.
Experienced with Linux.
Familiarity with enterprise storage technology from NetApp, EMC, etc.
Familiarity with enterprise web services and cloud technology, such as Amazon S3, is a plus.
Experience with distributed systems and networking is a plus.
Experience with open source software, referenceable open source involvement is a plus.
Strong software debugging skills
Ability to learn new software concepts in a fast paced environment
