Reports to: VP of EngineeringThe Job: Build the system software for our cutting-edge hybrid storage platform
About you:
? You love to build great products, and view software as one of the many tools in your toolbox
? You can put the customer?s hat on to see the product through their eyes
? You enjoy writing in high-level languages like Python or Ruby
Must haves:
? 5+ years of software development experience in a product development environment
? Excellent experience programming in Python, Ruby, Java, C++, or related language
? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field
? Experience developing system software for disk-based storage systems
? Familiarity with core technologies of modern storage subsystems such as RAID, SAN, NAS, snapshots, replication, high-availability
? Ability to learn quickly
? Comfortable with a startup environment
? Ability to translate business goals into own work assignments
? Ability to succeed with little management direction
? Strong oral and written communication skills
? Use best practices to document and write quality software. Focus on testing is extremely important
? Encourages and accepts personal feedback
? Can use judgment to solve problems where protocol might not exist
Nice to haves:
? Familiarity with MVC design patterns and web-based user interfaces
? Experience building scalable APIs
? Desire to collaborate with off-shore development partners
? Commitment to Test-driven Development
? Experience working in an Agile development environment
? Desire to debate and explore new technologies
Responsibilities:
? Work with a team of storage industry experts to design and develop the system software for a state-of-the-art storage virtualization platform
? Design and implement software modules in the control plane and front-end server-side management interface
? Support products through various stages of development
? Write test plans to verify the product meets the requirements. Design and develop comprehensive regression tests
