Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Sustaining Engineer with significant experience maintaining and improving enterprise class software applications.

This position executes post-launch support tasks related to items affecting the functionality, performance, scalability and quality of our products. This position provides support, maintenance and coding of both existing and new products. The person in this role will bring extensive experience with enterprise applications running on Windows Infrastructure. Significant database experience with SQL Server connectivity for high-performance applications is desired.
Essential responsibilities include:
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
Strong C/C++ skills
Experience in PHP or .NET on IIS is required for Web App that interfaces with significant amounts of real time security data across multiple databases. Having both is a plus.
Good knowledge of SQL Server required, (Developer profile: Writing, reading, T-SQL, profiling, optimization, troubleshooting Server to Database connectivity, diagnosing and troubleshooting performance issues.)
Be able to work on problems of diverse scope (software/hardware/configuration)
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated results in addressing product issues and driving corrective actions
Extensive experience maintaining enterprise web/database applications
Experience using code management and bug tracking tools
Must be proactive, self-motivated and attentive to detail
Must be able to work well under pressure and be able to manage multiple items effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills. (Ability to White Board and discuss ideas/concepts/process flows)
Knowledge of popular scripting languages such as Python, bash, and/or perl a plus
Exposure to install technology on Windows a plus
BSCS degree or equivalent
Qualifications & Requirements:
Engage in complex problem debugging on Windows, Mac and Linux
Understand and duplicate issues reported by Bit9's OEMs, Support Partners and End Users
Submit formal product changes to QA and release engineering, resulting in production-quality patches for use by customers
Verify the product changes prior to submitting for release
Troubleshoot customer-reported issues, and find a quick solution
Engage with customers to understand and find a quick solution to their issues
Merge changes into future product releases
