Job Description
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining development and test infrastructure, including software and databases, and performing day to day database administration and support tasks.
Essential Functions
Responsible for installation and configuration of host software, including Oracle and Linux.
Installation and configuration of application software, debugging problems, verifying fixes, updating regression test suites.
Set up new test environments as needed.
Perform upgrades of test infrastructure, including Oracle instances.
Required Experience
2 or more years of experience as an Oracle DBA or related experience
3 or more years of industry experience in Java development and database-based software development. Linux platform expertise (iptables, iproute, init/rc scripts, tuning, administration)
Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, ethernet, routing, firewalls, NAT, routing)
Experience with system monitor tools such as perfmon, sar, iostat, and vmstat
Experience identifying and measuring bottlenecks in multi-tier enterprise applications (database, app server, and web server)is a nice to have.
Understanding of multi-tier web application architecture, design and implementation is a nice to have.
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
