Software Engineer - Text Analytics Team Greenplum

As a key member of a small team, you will:

• own the delivery of commercial enterprise products including design, implementation, and verification of text analytics components including NLP and statistical analysis as well as search features for integration with the Greenplum DBMS and Greenplum Hadoop products
• evaluate technology options and recommend solutions
• integrate new technologies into the stack
• invent solutions to customer text analysis requirements
• We're serious about quality, you will also be:

o writing unit tests,
o writing automated regression tests, and
o tracking and fixing defects as they are found

• prototype novel ideas and turn successful prototypes into enterprise class software

To be successful, you will have most of the following:

• Commercial competency in Java (required)
• In addition, a solid understanding of one of the following:
  
  • Python
  • C

• Strong and obvious interest in most of the following:

• • • Natural Language Processing
    • Information Retrieval
    • Machine Learning
    • Hadoop
    • Lucene/SOLR
    • Data Science

• Familiarity with the Unix programming environments and GNU tools
• An understanding of parallel and distributed algorithms
• Experience with agile software project management styles
• Excellent communications skills
• Degree in Computer Science or Computational Linguistics

o Strong teamwork skills and also the ability to act independently
