Care.com is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Technology team in the position of Software Engineer. The candidate would join a small, agile team responsible for building a platform to support expansion into international markets. The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation and implementation of new product features.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
--Work with product management to understand business requirements.
--Design and implement extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable web-based systems solutions using Groovy/Grails, JavaScript, and SQL.
--Perform unit testing and work closely with QA team on systems testing.
--Support ongoing release cycle

Skills/Experience Requirements:
--Hands-on experience working with a modern web framework like Rails, Grails, Django or ASP.Net MVC.
--Experience with JavaScript and one or more UI libraries like jQuery or YUI a plus.
--Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Experience with MySQL is a plus.
--A strong desire to learn and apply new technologies at any layer of the technology stack as needed.
--Experience with Amazon Web Services a plus.
--Experience developing scalable, multi-tier web solutions, ideally for a consumer website.
--Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile, start-up environment
--Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education/Other Pre-requisites:
--BA/BS in computer science or related field desired.
--4+ years of experience working on a production website in a team environment.
