Software Engineer - Web Applications Digg

Description
Digg is looking for a Senior Web Application Developer with plenty of data-driven and large scale website development experience. You'll be working with some of the brightest minds in the web development, design and operations communities, on a variety of projects - adding new cool functionality to digg.com and scaling the site to meet our ever increasing traffic.
Responsibilities

- Help shape the functional requirements
- Investigate and use cutting-edge technologies (Cassandra, Mogile, etc.) in a high volume environment
- Create and contribute to open source projects while working on high traffic and scalability problems at Digg
- Facilitate communication within business, quality, and product teams
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Mentor other developers
- Assist in feasibility analysis and estimation
- Communicate status and escalate issues

Qualifications

- 6+ years experience in Web development
- 3+ with AMP (Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP/Python)
- Solid experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS and OO programming
- Knowledge of PHPUnit and test-driven development desirable
- Knowledge of Git, Memcache, SOA is a plus
- Experience working with APIs is a plus
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred.
