Software Engineer, Web Linden Lab

Overview: Linden Lab is looking for talented, creative, enthusiastic developers to connect and build web components and services. We are looking for someone with an innate curiosity, a keen mind and a can-do attitude. You should be able to write maintainable solutions, enjoy collaborating with teammates, communicating with a dynamic, transparent company, and being accountable for the decisions you are empowered to make. You should feel comfortable with big-picture view of components and systems, but able to pinpoint and change any level of detail.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain web applications and web services.
Troubleshoot issues with web server, database, security, network, and web technologies.
Write unit tests and collaborate with QA to develop test cases and useful load/functional tests.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of Python and/or PHP.
Thorough understanding of HTTP, comfort with all layers of the LAMP stack especially with Linux shell.
Understanding of web standards and security.
Must thrive in Agile Methodologies (TDD, Scrum) multi-tasking, distributed environment and have a demonstrated ability to schedule and meet deadlines as a strong team player.
Experience in relational databases (MySQL) and SQL.
Experience with Django and Javascript a plus.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor?s in Computer Science or related degree
2+ years software development and integration experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
