Software Engineer - Web Zoosk

Zoosk is looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about developing scalable, consumer-facing web applications. You will be responsible for creating applications that touch the lives of our 65 million plus user base across the world. You will own feature development from design to launch and over time be responsible for owning part of the Zoosk front end infrastructure.We're looking for an individual who is passionate about technology and who is interested in working on the latest standards from around the industry. Our new Zoosk web platform is built using state of the art web2.0 client side javascript rendering with Google Closure Tools, the latest html5 standards, and realtime notifications using BOSH. We're constantly looking to improve the platform to use the best tools and technology available to us to give our end users the best online dating experience possible.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product team to define clear requirements, deliverables, and milestones for new projects
Design, test, develop, and deploy production-ready applications using Google Closure Tools.
Over time, own and maintain a substantial part of our Zoosk javascript codebase.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science
Experience with PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and/or other Front-End languages required
Passion for building consumer-facing web applications
Solid understanding of object oriented design, coding and testing patterns
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and/or frameworks
Previous experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL is a plus
Previous start-up experience is a plus
