Software Engineer, Xamarin Studio / MonoDevelop Xamarin
Xamarin Studio is Xamarin?s IDE based on the open source MonoDevelop project. You will be working to maintain existing code, fix bugs and develop new features of the IDE.
The end goal is to create the best developer experience for developers on a Mac targeting Android, iOS and OSX as well as providing a great state-of-the art developer experience for developers on Windows that target these platforms. We work on a big spectrum of tasks in the IDE: from the text editor, the debugger engine, unit test integration, source code control but our primary focus is to extend the IDE to support all the new features on the Android, iOS and Mac stacks.
This position is based in Boston, MA or, but may consider virtual/remote candidates.
Develop and Maintain components of XamarinStudio/MonoDevelop
Fix bugs reported by our users
Extend the IDE to improve mobile development, including debugging, testing, deployment and profiling.
Surface new UI to simplify common tasks on Android and iOS
Keep up with Android and iOS improvements on the developer stack and surface those to Visual Studio
Work with the iOS and Android teams to identify ways to improve the developer experience
What We're Looking For:
Experience with C# or Java
Experience with client-side development (Winforms, WPF, Gtk#, MonoMac, iOS, Android)
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar, and/or relevant experience
Bonus: Contributed to open source projects and can share code samples via Github or other source code hosting facility
Bonus: Contributed to the Mono project or any of the Mono satellite projects a plus
Bonus: Experience developing extensions or addins Xamarin Studio, Eclipse or Visual Studio.
