Job DescriptionMaxPoint Interactive is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern to analyze, troubleshoot, and address technical issues as well as help develop tools and solutions for process improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in a highly technical role where challenges are as diverse as they are abundant. This individual will be a member of the Software Development Team working closely with Software Production and QA Engineers.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot issues involving system configuration, behavior, and performance
Run tests to ensure proper functioning of system in various environments
Assist in the design and develop tools for automation and process improvement
Analyze large quantities of data to find trends or indications of potential issues
Identify, isolate, and document defects clearly & concisely in the defect tracking system
Execute automated test programs and scripts for existing and future projects
Help set up a variety of test environments
Answer technical questions from Account Management and Analytics teams
Identify areas for system improvement and communicate with development team
Preferred Skills
An understanding of HTML, HTTP, and other web-focused technologies
Knowledge of scripting languages, C#, and/or Java
Experience working with databases
Familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic and interrupt-driven environment
Willingness to work both independently and as part of a team
Capacity to learn and apply new technologies quickly
Exceptional problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills ? both verbal and written
Friendly and approachable personality
Qualifications
Summer Interns must be entering their junior or senior year or be a Master?s degree candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other technical discipline
Must be eligible to work in the United States. Those needing sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire as we are not able to sponsor visas at this time
Ability to work fulltime hours for the duration of the internship
A minimum 3.25 GPA required
Previous internship experience preferred
Willingness to relocate to Austin, Texas for period of internship or co-op assignment
