Software Engineering Manager: Host Apps Data Robotics
OverviewThe person in this position will manage all software development related to management applications for the Drobo family of professional and SMB storage products. Responsibilities include management of a team of Drobo software developers and management of outsourced projects. Applications developed by the Host Apps team are targeted at media professionals working on both Mac OS and Windows systems and business applications for Drobo SMB customers.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of software developers creating the award-winning Drobo Dashboard management console
Develop new features targeted at Drobo product introductions, including resource planning and scheduling
Work with the sustaining team to maintain support for legacy products
Manage outsourced projects (both local and overseas) charged with developing important extensions and plug-ins for popular business management frameworks
Track defects for management application and interact with QA team through product release cycles
Requirements
BA/BS degree
10+ years of experience in software development
At least 5 years of experience managing a team
Solid C++ skills
Experience managing remote teams
Ability to actively work in the code base as required; highly technical in the areas of UI design, web services, network programming, and service development
Windows .NET Frameworks, C#, Win32, COM, Cocoa/Carbon, Objective C/C++, STL
Solid understanding of multi-threaded object-oriented applications
Already an expert or willing to become an expert in SMB storage management
Energetic with the ability to work from home or outside business hours as required
System and driver development experience is a plus
