As a Software Engineering Manager, you will proactively build, direct, and motivate an efficient staff to meet corporate multi-disciplined engineering needs, understand product and business requirements, and ensure that product-engineering department meets these requirements. You will also ensure that quality products are released within cost and schedule guidelines and that the engineering staff maintains and enhances their technical expertise by reading trade literature, attending trade shows, etc.
How you?ll do it
Responsible for the leading, planning and directing the electrical and software product engineering departments
Responsible for recruiting and career development of electrical and software engineering staff
May assume a position in a technical role within the department
Work closely with mechanical engineering manager to coordinate engineering activities
Work with Director of R&D to create guidelines and procedures to be used within the department
Supervise engineering staff, monitor results of work for quality and quantity, and provide support and/or disciplinary action as required

Participated in cross-functional teams to determine project objectives, costs and schedules
Scheduled and assigned projects to appropriate personnel
Created and/or reviewed system architecture and product specifications for accuracy and completeness
Monitored overall operation of engineering departments for timely, accurate and completeness of results
Coordinated 3rd party development as required
Provided input on anticipated budget requirements for personnel and equipment allocations
What you?ll need
Bachelor of Science Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
7 + Years of engineering experience
5 + Years of supervisory experience
