You excel with soft skills and communication which makes you very effective in a highly collaborative, team and paired programming environment
Ideally, you have participated in open source projects
You love agile principles - continuous improvement, incremental and continuous delivery, lean style techniques such as Kanban, Test Driven Development, etc
What you will do
As a core team member of our small, agile, web application platform team you will get to work on all aspects of our products. From the databases to the Javascript. From the web services to the HAML. You will get to work with a range of these tools:
Ruby/Rails
MySQL
RESTful API and web services;
HAML/CoffeeScript
Backbone.js
jQuery
Git
Rspec/Cucumber
You will develop a strong health care industry domain knowledge and an understanding of the needs of cancer patients. Be a vocal leader on the team for continuous improvement, code quality, and software craftsmanship
What you will bring to us
Experience doing test-driven development on object-oriented web frameworks
Solid experience in web technologies and web application development with a thorough understanding of the underlying why and how of the tools you use
Your understanding and experience with performance issues, tuning, scaling, and security when working with the web
Your bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Your excitement for the mission of Navigating Cancer and a strong desire to impact an up-and-coming health care technology start-up
These are full-time with the Navigating Cancer team. Our offices are in the Westlake/Queen Anne area in Seattle, and we offer competitive salaries and benefits.
