The role of the Software Manager is to contribute to and lead the design of specialized software projects in support of DSC?s biometrics solutions. The Software Manager interfaces regularly with the SVP of Engineering and other engineering managers to ensure that the software products meet both engineering and production objectives. Also, the Software Manager performs staffing, reviews, and project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to and lead design of complex biometrics software systems
Enforce development standards
Hands-on management of a group of software engineers
Hiring and staffing
Manage projects to schedule and budget
BS in Computer Science or related field
8+ years of experience in managing SW product development teams
3+ years of experience in developing and reviewing SW specifications and design documents
3+ years of experience with managing teams using Agile/Scrum methods.
Experienced with the full SDLC development, including requirements, specification, high level design, detailed design, code, test, integrate, product support
3+ years of experience working with and supporting customers.
Experience with overseeing the installation and maintenance of build environments and software CM systems.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated technical project management skills
Candidate must be able to meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance by the U.S. Government should the company require one.
MS in Computer Science or related field
Ability to travel up to 25% is highly desirable.
Experience with Big Data, SaaS, Virtualization, Cloud,
Background, understanding, and experience with data modeling and ETL.
Experience with proposal development
Scrum Master Certification is highly desirable.
Experience in data mining, pattern recognition, or machine learning.
Ability to frequently sit, reach within hands and arms length.
Ability to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, etc
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.
Individual?s primary workstation is located in an office with daily interaction in the production/manufacturing/lab areas.
