Software Product Marketing Manager Emptoris

The role has overall responsibility for championing the Emptoris product and services solutions through Emptoris' direct sales organization. This person will need to champion Emptoris' solutions and be a product expert, delivering this expertise to the sales force, key industry influencers and the target market. This person must also interact with and provide market and competitive feedback back to the product management team. The Product Marketing Manager will also be responsible for creating and delivering content as well as communicating and supporting the sales process for all Emptoris products and services. The Product Marketing Manager will also be responsible for providing feedback to the sales, marketing, operations and product management teams regarding market, competitor and product/service requirements.
The Product Marketing Manager will work with a global sales team, typically comprising of Account Executives and Sales Engineers based at various locations.
In addressing the needs of the sales force, the Product Marketing Manager should be able to focus on the Emptoris full product and service portfolio. In addition the Product Marketing Manager will draw upon other resources within the Emptoris (e.g. Marketing, Operations, Client Services, Professional Services, Business Development, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive Product Marketing plan that addresses the needs of the sales force and supports corporate marketing goals
- Lead the Product Marketing team in championing the Emptoris' solutions and the executing against the product marketing plan
- Create sales tools (e.g., sales presentations, collateral, case studies, white papers, product demo scripts) for the sales force to use in specific opportunities
- Deliver in-depth training to the sales force and channel partners on the messaging, positioning, and value of Emptoris offerings
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the customers' business problems, practices, challenges and requirements within the context of Emptoris' offerings
- Develop an in-depth understanding of how Emptoris' solutions solve critical pains within our customers and how Emptoris' differentiates itself in the market
- Deliver in-depth support to the sales force by actively participating as a subject matter expert in presentations to prospects and customers and providing introductory, high level software product demonstrations
- Support media and industry analyst activities by actively participating as a subject matter expert on the use of Emptoris' solutions and benefits achieved by customers
- Liaise with other departments (e.g. Professional Services, Marketing, Product Management) and third party partners (e.g. Accenture, IBM and others)
Key Result Areas / Success Criteria:
- Ability to create innovative product demonstrations, ROI models, sales tools, and content for product launches that demonstrates value and differentiates Emptoris
- Proven ability to prepare PowerPoint Presentations with clear, concise, compelling value and differentiation messaging
- Ability of the sales force to accurately and optimally position Emptoris' solutions in competitive deals
- Importance of contribution as the key resource/reference for the sales force on all Emptoris products and services
- Ability to engage customers and prospects consultatively to uncover key business problems that Emptoris solutions can solve during live meetings
- Ability to think creatively and respond credibly to prospect and customer inquiries/concerns regarding Emptoris solutions during in-person (live) meetings
- Flexibility to prioritize and manage multiple activities simultaneously
Required work experience/skills:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of product marketing concepts in marketing complex enterprise software (e.g., SCM, CRM, PLM, or ERP solutions)
- Proven experience creating sales enablement tools including software product demonstrations, ROI models, sales tools, and content for product launches
- Proven experience creating PowerPoint Presentations with clear, concise, compelling value and differentiation messaging
- Demonstrable track record of consistent achievement
- Excellent writing ability for creation of product content (e.g. case studies, white papers, collateral, website, etc.)
- Excellent planning, time management, organisational and written skills
- Living within a commutable distance of Burlington, Massachusetts
Ideal additional work experience/skills:
- Educated to graduate level (MBA or equivalent)
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the procurement, strategic sourcing or supplier performance management business process
- 5+ years-successful experience of product marketing with a leading entrepreneurial software organization marketing high value software solutions to Global 1000 companies
- Ability to function effectively within an international corporate customer environment
- Ability to think and work both on a strategic and tactical level
- Excellent inter-personal and influencing skills, with the ability to build and leverage relationships at all levels across the company
- Excellent and dynamic high-level presentation skills with the ability to address and impress senior executive audiences
- An understanding of business case methodologies
- Comfortable with the preparation of technical strategies
- Highly analytical
- Demonstrable motivation skills.
