(South Jordan)The Software QA Engineer is primarily responsible for managing quality across MediConnect Global's suite of medical record retrieval applications. The QA Engineer will be responsible for validating that software releases meet product or system specifications and business requirements. The candidate will prepare and execute test cases and document defects. The individual must communicate proactively and effectively with team members, project managers and software developers.

Duties: Effectively communicate and collaborate with developers and project managers to understand business and functional requirements. Contribute to the QA team by evolving and improving the role of quality assurance across the organization.
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Write test cases to verify functionality, confirm end-to-end validation of systems, and complete bug regression.
Work in collaboration with the quality assurance team to develop test plans, meet test schedules, and present time estimation for testing activities to be performed.
Effectively explain and document bugs, including reproduction steps, system configuration, etc.
Be a self-starter and detail-oriented
Analyze existing methods and suggest tactics for integrating new and improved testing strategies.
Qualifications: Previous working experience with software release cycles in n-tier environments, testing applications, gathering requirements, writing test plans and procedures, tracking errors, documenting results and developing test case scenarios.
Solid understanding of software testing methodologies.
Work experience testing web and desktop applications.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, testing multiple projects and products
Working knowledge of databases and SQL a plus
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and software a plus
4 year degree in Computer science, information technology, or information systems preferred.
