Software Quality Assurance Engineer Minerva Networks

Headquartered in Alviso, CA, Minerva is a privately owned company developing broadband television software solutions for the telecommunication, cable, satellite and enterprise markets.

Internship Duties:

As an integral member of Minervas Quality Assurance team, you will have the opportunity to develop, test and/or execute test cases and test scripts against Minervas xTVFusion Client and Backoffice

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with other members of the Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to test various aspects of xTVFusion, including new and innovative set-top boxes features (such as whole-home DVR) and back-office capabilities.
Develop and execute test plans, while troubleshooting problems and logging defects as they are encountered.
Using your personal experience and judgment to provide user feedback on the product so far as usability is concerned.
Use and test against networking equipment, application servers, database systems, video servers, and conditional access systems.

Required Knowledge:

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Hands-on experience using Web-based application, such as Wikis, bug tracking applications, and test case management tools

Hands-on experience with Linux or other Unix-based operating systems

Hands-on experience with networking equipment, such as routers and switches

Experience with application servers and database management systems is preferred

Experience with video servers and conditional access systems is preferred

Experience with VMWare is preferred


Required Skills & Abilities:

Multitasking - the ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
Meeting deadlines on weekly project tasks.
Technical ability to easily pick up on learning new products and features
Team-oriented, flexible and excellent communication skills required.

Education and Training:

1 3 years of Software Quality Assurance professional experience required
Masters CS/EE degree or equivalent.
