Description
eChalk has an immediate opportunity for a well organized, diligent and effective Software Quality Assurance Engineer. The ideal candidate is someone with a proven track record and professional experience in functional/regression testing design and execution. As a member of the Quality Assurance team you will be responsible for end-to-end testing for product releases and you will work directly with software developers, product management and support staff to define, develop and ensure the highest quality and performance of our Web-based and mobile products. Quality Assurance is a vital role within our organization and directly impacts the success of our company. You?ll help eChalk build trailblazing Web 3.0 and mobile K-12 learning products used by thousands of schools.
Responsibilities
Designing and executing manual test plans and test scripts for complete modules and/or workflows.
Converting business requirements into test plans and test cases.
Working closely with software developers to develop test specifications and build test cases to rigorously test product functionality and investigate all potential product test failures.
Bug fix verification and validation.
Requirements
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent subject area
Minimum 5 years experience in manual functional/regression testing design and execution experience
5+ years of test case and test plan design/maintenance
Ability to communicate clearly in writing, by phone and in person
High productivity and attention to detail
Familiarity with QA tools and techniques, bug tracking systems, test design and execution
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Comfortable working on a distributed team
Experience testing front end Web-based applications across multiple browsers and platforms
Strong understanding and hands-on experience of the QA process and methodologies
Working knowledge of designing and executing automated test suites
Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking and reproducing application issues
Ability to debug and investigate pages for issues
Working knowledge of SQL Server 2005 database concepts and ability to analyze and write SQL query language
Knowledge of educational software, content management systems and email application testing a plus
