Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Web Technologies Rave Mobile Safety

JOB SUMMARY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing deep expertise in your assigned functional areas and products.
Serving as the "quality advocate" for your product, working until all critical issues are universally recognized and resolved.
Evaluating issues identified by our clients and customer support team; documenting defects or clarifying procedures as necessary.
Coordinating activities across customer support, engineering, product management and QA teams to resolve issues in timely fashion.
Participating in reviews of functional specifications; recommending modifications to maximize system functionality and quality.
Analyzing functional specifications and defect reports; creating and/or maintaining test plans to fully exercise the referenced functionality.
Executing test plans as part of defect resolution, system test, regression test, and post-release testing.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL QUALITIES:

Required Skills:

Bachelor of Science degree in a technology related field (or equivalent industry experience).
Minimum 3 years professional experience in software quality assurance.
Experienced in diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving software quality issues.
Working knowledge of quality assurance methods, including: unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
Develop and maintain test conditions, expected results, scripts and scenarios in a structured software delivery environment.
Ability to work within the Unix/Linux operating system and related web technologies; interpret Apache and Java log files.
Create and execute basic relational database queries as required for QA and root-cause-analysis activities.
Participate as a key resource in new product launch, including the tenacity to drive issue resolution to completion. Must possess the interest and the ability required to create and adapt to new technologies

Rapidly deliver and iterate on new products and feature enhancements, from initial product development through launch.

Ability to communicate clearly in writing, by phone, and in person.
Willing to support occasional after-hours and weekend validation activities in response to new releases or critical issue investigation.

"Nice to Have" Skills:

Development of QA automation without relying on commercial software packages.
Browser and server side test automation experience, using tools such as Selenium.
Experience testing web-based enterprise applications and validating mobile application behavior, either mobile-web browser or local (downloaded) client based.
Experience developing and/or executing test activities which efficiently address cross-browser testing requirements
Experience executing performance / scalability testing.
