Software Quality Engineer, SaaS Ping Identity

DescriptionAs part of the On-Demand team, you will be working on establishing and maintaining quality of the PingOne portfolio of cloud identity services.
Ideal candidate is a motivated individual contributor, excellent communicator, out-of-the-box thinker with respect to use case testing, and a powerful counterweight to the ongoing development activities of the team.
Requires functional test design and planning, including requirements definition and refinement, execution of all types of testing, contribution to test automation development, operation of open source and proprietary test automation tools, detailed staging of complex distributed test scenarios, and ability to work with a geographically distributed team.
This role is very much a solid individual contributor on an agile development team with responsibilities such as:
? Designs, builds, and maintains test environment to achieve solid testing.
? Executes tests and works closely with senior SQEs and development team to resolve system and product issues.
? Participates in using, maintaining, and extending tools necessary for functional testing, defect tracking, risk analysis and coordination.
? Active in improving/expanding performance test harness and product quality.
? Stages test situations to better understand situations reported from the field.
? Participates in production rollouts of new versions of the PingOne service
? 3-5+ years? experience in SaaS or web service software environment with emphasis in both broad case testing as well as performance testing.
? Experience with, and comfortable using, UNIX environments.
? A passion for building robust and thorough automation frameworks.
? An excellent and relentless investigative, problem-solving approach to quality.
? Very strong oral and written communication skills.
? Demonstrated knowledge and experience of SQE principles and practices including test planning test strategy, test matrix design in a fast paced/rapid-turn/process light ? ? environment.
? Must Have: Exposure to non-commercial, open source performance test tools/suites/frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, JMeter, WAPT, JUnitPerf, Grinder, etc. as well as home ? grown stress/load testing tools preferably in Java.
? Must Have: Ability to write some Java code and scripting languages in support of developing performance test automation harness, drivers and suites.
? Important: Ability to work in complex setups and configuration. Configuration and troubleshooting of web/application servers and/or IT Networking in combination with SQE skills has proven very effective.
? CAUTION: Heavy experience with commercial test tools such as WinRunner, LoadRunner, Quick Test Pro, etc. is NOT ideal as these tools are not what we use.
? Familiarity with these standards: HTTP, HTML, XPath, REST, JSON
? Experience with Git
? Experience with Selenium WebDriver
? Experience with Appium
? Experience in an agile, iterative, RUP or XP environment.
? Strong technical understanding of Java, to be able to debug into source code and find issues, as well as to build good tests.
? Capable of high performance in a one-week iteration cadence with frequent product deliveries.
? Self-motivated and works with minimal direction.
? Takes ownership of tasks and executes.
? Ideal candidate must be able to learn quickly and independently and be capable of gathering information and understanding complex features/environments.
? Experience working with mobile devices and applications.
? Bonus: Familiarity with Windows Server, ActiveDirectory, Microsoft IIS
