Software Test Engineer Solera Networks

Overview:

Seeking a software test engineer in our South Jordan, UT office to test our Linux-based network capture appliance. Successful applicants will demonstrate a "can-do" attitude and an ability to rise to any challenge and succeed. They will have a track record of delivering results, a strong aptitude for testing, and a high level of initiative. Strong preference will be given to engineers with test automation experience.
Job Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain scripts to test various aspects of the product
Validate product via automated and manual testing
Exercise the integration of hardware and software system components
Conduct performance, scalability and load testing of appliance
Document test cases, test results and performance benchmarks
Troubleshoot and root-cause bugs in complex configurations
Other duties as assigned or needed

Required Skills:

Systems software testing (3-5 years) which includes development of test automation
Ruby, PHP, Python, Selenium or other scripting languages
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and produce descriptive bug reports
Ability to interact positively and pro-actively with other team members
Networking protocols and web services
Strong influencing and negotiation abilities
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical degree or experience

Preferred Experience:

Packet capture and analysis (Wireshark)
Configuration of disk subsystems (RAID, JBOD, SAN)
GUI automated scripting (Selenium)
Test driven development (Agile)
Linux expertise
