Role Definition

The Solution Architect reports into the professional services organization, serving as key technical interface to the customer. Primary responsibilities include serving as product SME, capturing client business requirements, and developing high level product design and gap analysis.

Successful candidates will have advanced technical skills as well as rich experience interacting with customers at all levels of the organization. Candidates should have knowledge of software development, configuration and deployment as well as varied operating systems and hardware platforms, especially within hosting, cloud services or enterprise solutions. Must be adept with abstract technical concepts, but also be a hands-on contributor.

Candidates must demonstrate experience in working all aspects of professional services delivery including:

- Sales team engagement â€" pre and post-sale

- Requirement gathering â€" pre and post-sale

- Solution design â€" high level design and gap analysis

- Documentation â€" formal and informal

- Solution acceptance

Responsibilities

The Solutions Architect will be involved in Pre-Sales, Deployment and Post-Deployment of the delivery implementation process. These points include;

• Pre-Sales phase:
  
  • Understand customers' strategic objectives
  • Assess customers' business and technical needs
  • Propose solutions within context of Parallel's product suite
  • Define scope within commercial documentation
  • Customer education
  • Expectation management
• Deployment phase:
  
  • Extract and document requirements
  • Perform high level design
  • Technical liaison between customer and development staff
  • Perform system configuration
  • Manage all aspects of solution delivery in conjunction with Project Manager
  • Facilitate solution acceptance
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
• Post-Deployment phase:
  
  • Transition customer from deployment to production
  • Perform ongoing technical account monitoring
  • Follow up on live operations
  • Identify upgrade or enhancement opportunities

Preferred Requirements

• At least 5 years' experience with Web Hosting technology for a provider or related vendor
• At least 5 years' experience in technical and architectural design: describe, document, and articulate solutions to address large, complex, multi-platform solutions
• At least 5 years' experience at a technology vendor delivering software solutions in a customer facing position
• At least 5 years deployment experience in
  
  • Web technologies, experience in developing Web-applications
  • Virtualization solutions
  • Microsoft technologies â€" Windows Architecture, Exchange, Active Directory
  • Multiple operating systems â€" Windows, UNIX
• Solid algorithmic thinking and ability to communicate technical concepts.
• Readiness to travel up to 25 %
• Fluency in the English language
