Job Description
The role of Solution Architect (SA) requires knowledge and skills that are both broad and deep. To be effective, the SA must have experience on multiple hardware and software environments and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments. This person has usually performed in a variety of different roles during software development / solution implementation projects. The person needs an ability to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language that is the parlance of each group.
For a given implementation of Tribold software, the SA is responsible for the development of the overall vision that underlies the projected solution and transforms that vision through execution into the solution. The SA becomes involved with a project at the time of inception and is involved in the developing the initial requirements. They then remain involved in some capacity throughout the balance of the project.
In addition to project implementation support, the Tribold SA will also provide support to various sales activities and partner solution development initiatives. Flexibility and ability to travel is therefore a prerequisite.
Responsibilities / Tasks Support project implementations, sales activities and partner solution development through the following: Provide Tribold expertise on Tribold architecture and integration capabilities Ensure that decisions taken comply with Tribold strategic architecture, direction and best practice Develop and drive implementation of: o Solution / Technical Architecture o Integration Architecture o Migration Architecture o Deployment Architecture o Configuration Management o Product Data Migration Review all high level Architecture requirements and provide Tribold sign-off on solutions Support and direct the integration of the Tribold software with 3rd party systems, either as P2P, web services or EAI middleware Support and direct the specification and development of custom interfaces Drive Technical consistency and reuse across projects Ensure that solutions are robust and scalable Develop and enhance Tribold service offerings (e.g., sizing review, performance review, architecture review, etc) Provide technical direction for Tribold Product Requirements
Qualifications University degree Previous Experience 6-10 years experience Skills / Abilities Ability to recommend the appropriate Technical Architectures for a given implementation Demonstrated the ability to work independently, and in a leadership capacity Requires little intervention by management in day-to-day tasks Excellent knowledge and experience of: o CSP BSS & OSS systems o Technology standards XSD, XML, XSLT, XPATH
BPEL WSDL EDI SQL Microsoft framework Web Services JMS SOA o Application development (e.g., C, C++, JavaScript, EJB, XML, XSD, XSLT) o RDBMS (e.g., MS-SQL Server, Oracle) Working knowledge of integration techniques and impact of data model design on integration and performance Familiarity with general TM Forum eTOM, TAM and SID concepts Ability to lead requirements and design workshops Ability to operate in fast moving team environment delivering to tight schedules in a demanding technical environment Ability to work under pressure Ability to understand customer business requirements and relate them to Tribold technologies Ability to run an internal project with little or no direction from Management, including interacting with other departments Experience with and knowledge of: o Complex CSP deployment and operating environments o Configuration Management principles o CSP IT software / hardware topologies o Data Migration approaches and management Experience in technical leadership position Good communicator of technical ideas Good working knowledge of integration and EAI Strong experience of data modelling and data mapping between applications Additional Requirements Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally Experience with the CSP / Telco industry
