We are currently seeking a Solutions Engineer for our Houston, TX office.
Job Description: Pre-Sales Responsibilities:
Assist Account Executives (AE) in the qualification of potential clients.
Evaluation of possible size of opportunity with clients.
Determine client potential product requirements and needs.
Working with AE to evaluate the client current business models and markets.
Execute discovery workshops and gather requirements for business and technical specifications required to provide and accurate value proposition and system demonstration.
Determine client current pain points (system needs).
Determine the client requirements for the use of a SaaS model solution.
Determine client product range, and areas within the supply chain in which they operate.
Working with the Account Executive, conduct one on one discussion with client subject matter experts to understand the clients current business models and operational process flows.
Determine the client current systems and possible future systems which will interface with our products.
Develop prototype and proof of concept product demonstration.
Maintain working knowledge of current systems capabilities and limitations.
Have clear understanding of the roadmap and release schedule and its impact on current functionality and limitations.
Maintain up to date demonstration systems with current active data points, in an effort to provide the client with real time scenarios.
Respond on time and accurately to customer questions, Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP).
On time submission of the RFI / RFP / Follow up questions by the Account Executive.
Compilation and presentation of responses to internal approval team prior to delivery to client.
This includes the management of responses required from various FuelQuest departments and resources.
Delivery of on site, or web based customer specific business model solution demonstrations articulating software functional capabilities and business benefits.
Travel to customer sites as required.
Discuss project delivery approach, and implementation requirements to support sales processes.
With potential clients.
Internally with our Professional services and Operational support teams.
Assist Account Executives in the creation and deliver of effective client product proposals and ROI (value proposition) analysis.
Completion of internal use only ROI and Valuation documents.
Assist AE in the creation and internal approval of all Customer proposals.
Conduct handover workshop to the implementation team following successful sales engagement.
Communication of final contract agreements, SOW requirements including System Gaps, concerns, and possible customer scope creep.
Provide graphical vision of the overall solution and all connection points to our software and the clients systems, as well as 3rd party systems IE Carriers.
Participate on conference calls, web and onsite product demonstration for managers and senior level executives as required to complete phases in the sales cycle.
Maintain understanding of competitor's capabilities and limitations.
Join and participate in industry forums and knowledge exchange programs.
Assist marketing department in preparing competitive analysis on major competition.
Provide Sales team with high level updates of changes to competitions systems and capabilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to sell to customer needs.
Customer service oriented nature.
Ability to present technical information.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
Subject matter expert in supply chain and excise motor fuel tax concepts.
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
Strong expertise on technology standards, architectures, frameworks, solutions and best practices.
Demonstrated understanding of Software as a Service (SAAS), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Services and security protocols.
Have a sound knowledge of ERP and finance solutions, their capabilities, and workflows for data integration discussions, documentation and customer acceptance.
Minimum Qualifications, Education Requirements:
Experience with Value selling a major plus.
Experienced with motor fuel taxes, excise tax, GST and VAT taxes a major plus.
5 + years experience in Pre-Sales, Sales, Consulting, Support and / or Business Development roles with large, multi-national software organization or industry specific solutions in Oil and Gas secondary distribution.
