The Solution Engineer is responsible for leading the consultative selling process supporting the achievement of quarterly booking targets. This person will collaborate with multiple account pursuit teams to design and demonstrate SciQuest solutions that will satisfy the business needs and objectives of our prospective customers. Solution Engineer is a client-facing position that requires moderate to extensive travel that is offset by reasonable opportunities we have to conduct remote discovery and demonstration requirements.
Provides in-depth understanding of SciQuest solutions and services to prospective customers that will in turn lead to shortened sales cycles and increased revenues.
Leads detailed discovery sessions throughout the sales cycle to develop an in-depth knowledge of our prospect?s business challenges and solution requirements, while demonstrating subject matter expertise that is representative of SciQuest?s overall Customer Success culture.
Delivers remote and on-site demonstrations tailored to specific customer requirements, illustrating business value in compelling ways through excellent presentations.
Delivers executive-level presentations illustrating the business value of SciQuest solutions, incorporating case studies and metrics from current SciQuest customers.
Assists with Return-On-Investment and quantitative value analysis throughout the sales process.
Summarizes and relays feedback to SciQuest product strategy teams, identifying market trends and activity drivers essential to SciQuest?s long-term success.
Assists our sales, project management, and technology teams in crafting responses to RFPs by reviewing the technical requirements, designing an appropriate solution landscape, and providing technical and functional responses.
Builds comprehensive knowledge of competitor capabilities and effectively positions SciQuest solutions in all phases of the sales cycle.
Provides technical knowledge and solution education support to Account Executives.
Provides Professional Services organization with detailed information on all solution and implementation requirements that were positioned with the prospect during the sales cycle.
Minimum 5 years of pre-sale solution engineer experience for an enterprise software organization
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field (MBA is a plus)
Possesses knowledge of a minimum of two of the following business areas and their related software technology equirements:
Contract Lifecycle Management
Supplier Information Management
Accounts Payable automation
Demonstrated success at meeting and exceeding sales quotas in a fast-paced, enterprise software environment
Understands the Software-as-a-Service software delivery model and its related benefits
Working knowledge of return-on-investment principles and ability to articulate value to executive decision-makers
Willingness to travel 50% to 75%
