Position Summary
The Architect works with the customer, partners, and the GT Nexus project team to successfully deliver multiple, integrated data needs to power product-based, functional solutions to meet customers' needs.This position requires excellent project management and technical capabilities, and also exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with customers, leading teams, and driving business process as well as technical work streams. Working cross functionally to marshal support for integration activities and effectively directing the Technical Analyst assigned to the team are key contributors to success in this role.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities:
Position requires some travel generally during the kickoff and solution design stages of a project. An Architect may work on multiple projects at once and should be comfortable juggling and prioritizing a variety of tasks for each project. These include:
In-depth knowledge of GT Nexus solutions and match customer requirements with existing product functionality
Understanding data requirements for the customer solution and how they enable the use cases
Meeting with customers and partners to define their integration capabilities
Designing the solution to that will meet the customers requirements and focus on the value areas to be delivered in the implementation
Defining the data requirements and integration needs to meet the defined solution
Leading the requirement gathering sessions with the customer
Owning the creation of the Business Requirement/Solution Design document that will guide the implementation work to be completed by the project team
Directing the building of required integration maps and creation of integration "On boarding" tickets
Directing the GT Nexus resource team, including Technical Analyst. Focusing the team on project deliverables and meeting deadlines
Understanding related EDI and XML message formats and understanding existing integration framework components (i.e file transport, file mgmt, translation maps, app settings)
Participating in Products Design work and prioritization of features to be developed (contribute to portions of MRD)
Escalating issues that need additional focus / attention by management (both on Customer and GT Nexus side)
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in technical or business field, masters a plus
Previous experience implementing software through a software development lifecycle (SDLC) implementation model, specifically with the following tasks:
Technical design
Test plan development and execution
Test data preparation
Unit build and testing
Test case / issue tracking
Data migration
Deployment planning / execution
Proven ability to successfully design and implement large integrated solutions involving multiple integrations with multiple partners
Previous experience with EDI and XML message formats
Previous experience with two or more of following a plus: X12 EDI 300, 304, 310, 315, 850, 856, 214, 7501, 527
Proficiency with SQL, X12 EDI, XML, and related tools required
Ability to understand data translation mapping specifications between message types such as EDI to XML
Experience successfully managing a small team for testing and/or developing integrations
Industry experience (3PL, Ocean and Air Carrier, importer/exporter)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Direct customer facing experience
Passion for contributing to a growing business and fostering a team atmosphere
Proven ability to be a strong team player ability to work within a cross-functional team (products, engineering, sales, etc.).
