The Solutions Architect is often a highly seasoned senior technocrat who has led multiple projects through the software development life cycle, and usually performed in a variety of different roles in that life cycle.
Responsible for understanding internal and external customer needs, and designing solutions that allow customers to implement systems for their technology business applications. This involves performing system modeling, analysis and planning, to implement a solution that will meet business needs. This may include researching software and products or services, and finding best solutions to meet business requirements. In most cases, the architect presents and translates the design to clients ensure the design will meet the clients? requirements.
An architect reviews and analyzes current technology infrastructure and its ability to support strategic objectives of a customer as it relates to the Connecture product line. This may include working with the Product team within an organization to assist in the improvement of business processes, testing systems to ensure functionality is satisfactory and recommending new systems or product upgrades.
Roles and Responsibilities
The essential responsibilities of the Solution Architect are:
?Work with the Project Management team, Business Analysis team, Technical Leads and internal development teams to successfully implement the design. This may include prototyping or developing proofs of concept. As a technical expert, the architect often provides guidance and makes decisions on changes required throughout the design process, and may also do some of the development along with the development staff.
?Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders, recommend, deploy, and develop for an EAI platform to design a truly integrated, scalable technology solution.
?Act as integration subject matter expert to other technical teams.
?Own, maintain and support existing integrations, and implement a strategy for ongoing improvement and standardization of integrations.
?A BS/BA Degree Computer Science/ Engineer or equivalent work experience
?At least 7 years of industry experience
?3 of those years in enterprise integration
Skills/ Experience Required:
?Must have experience on multiple hardware and software environments and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments.
?Deep expertise in core integration technologies, including SOA, Web services, AJAX, JSON, XML, EDI, SAML, BPEL, SOAP, etc.
?Experience with multiple EAI platforms, including Open Source, and integration with Cloud solutions.
?Expertise designing and developing scalable, high performing EAI or SOA solutions for national organizations.
?Experience integrating with cloud based solutions as well as traditional and custom applications.
?Development experience with Java and experience in shell scripting.
?Experience with Single Sign-On integrations utilizing the SAML standard.
?Experience with SOA Governance, Federation, Process server, and Business Modeler Tools
?Strong experience with security standards like WS-Security, SAML, WS-Trust
?Ability to share and communicate ideas verbally, both orally and in writing, to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language that is the parlance of each group.
