Solutions Architect in Massachusetts or Connecticut fusionstorm

We have an immediate opportunity for a Solutions Architect in the Masschusetts or Connecticut area.


The primary responsibility of the Solutions Architect, Systems & Storage Business Unit is to provide technical presales support, design and validation of solutions, and guidance on best practice implementation.



Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Provide pre-sales engineering for Systems & Storage business opportunities in the Region.

Identify new business opportunities and create go-to market plans for each Systems & Storage solution.

Review and validate all Systems & Storage solutions to ensure compatibility and consistency with FusionStorm best practice.

Evaluate new vendor technology offerings, providing recommendations and go-to market plans for said technology.

Assist with the definition, development, installation and administration of solution demonstrations in the FusionStorm lab.

Assist with the planning, allocation and scheduling of all engineering resources required to successfully complete both pre- and post-sales engagements.

Manage local HP vendor relationships within the Region.

Assure that the details of all billable engagements are accurately tracked and communicated including status changes, updates, milestones and other significant events.

Working in conjunction with other Systems and Storage Teams (e.g., the Northwest Team), create, maintain and publish a set of written procedures and best practices for the delivery of pre- and post-sales engineering services to customers.

Participate in weekly conference calls for the Systems and Storage teams.

Primary focus for products and professional services is on systems and storage vendors as follows: HP, Symantec (Veritas), VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Quantum (ADIC), and RedHat.



Essential Education / Experience:

Must have at least 3 years experience in Technical Presales/Sales background in selling Systems and solutions.



Essential Skills and Competencies:

Candidate should have a strong understand of the following and must be able to meet with all levels of IT to discuss.

o Servers - HP (how they compliment server consolidation with VMWare and Microsoft).

o Software - Symantec NetBackup and Backup Exec, VMware, Microsoft

Very familiar with technical sales in support of Microsoft environments (Exchange, AD, SQL Server).

Advanced knowledge on latest techniques around backup, archiving, and disaster recovery.
