The primary responsibility of the Solutions Architect position it to provide technical presales support to assist in developing the sales pipeline. The Solutions Architect is the technical lead on sales calls and facilitates interactions and collaboration with systems engineers and account executives. The Solutions Architect is responsible for the design and validation of solutions and providing guidance on best practices for implementation.
Responsibilities:
? Provide pre-sales engineering for business opportunities.
? Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of a customer's current infrastructure and operations.
? Identify opportunities and develop technical solutions to meet customer's needs and requirements.
? Review and validate all solutions to ensure compatibility and consistency with FusionStorm best practices.
? Communicate the role and value of the solution to the organization and present the business case for technology investments.
? Assist the Sales Group and Professional Services with requests for quotes / information, bids, proposals and statements of work.
? Assist with the definition, development, installation and administration of solution demonstrations in the FusionStorm labs.
? Evaluate new vendor technology offerings, providing recommendations and go-to market plans for said technology.
? Participate in vendor training to maintain and grow skills and knowledge of existing and new products.
? Support local vendor relationships within the Region.
? Working in conjunction with other Solution Architects and teams create, maintain and publish a set of written procedures and best practices for the delivery of pre- and post-sales engineering services to customers.
? Participate in weekly conference calls for the Solutions Architect team.
? Present technical briefings to Client Executives and Sr. IT Staff
? Primary focus for products and professional services is on vendors as follows: EMC, NetApp, HP, Cisco, Hitachi Data Systems, VMware, and Symantec.
? Understand and abide by all security and operational policies
? This position may require travel 10-20% travel, as required, to support client meetings, attend training and vendor events. Trips are generally short-term trips (2-5 days in duration).
Qualifications:
? Minimum of five years experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors.
? Demonstrated knowledge of network technologies through achievement of Cisco CCDE, CCIE and other professional certifications.
? Architect networks that effectively meet business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology considerations.
? Participate in selection of networking technologies and products for implementation
? 3-5 years experience in Presales Engineering, in selling system and solutions in the Channel model.
? Minimum of 5 years as an engineering consultant, outside systems engineer or similar.
? Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer.
? Strong technical writing skills and the ability to assist the Sales Group and Professional Services with requests for quotes / information, bids, proposals and statements of work.
? Demonstrate the ability to create technical drawings for solution proposals.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present in a group setting.
? Ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers, including conceptual design and white boarding sessions.
? Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
? Support forecasting through entering and maintaining opportunities in the CRM tool.
? Self motivated to develop and maintain skill set and product knowledge to maximize value and to deliver quality services to our customers. This includes attaining designated certification requirements and attending product-specific training, reviewing technical literature, and obtaining hands-on experience.
? Ability to mentor other solution architects and account executives.
? Professional self-starter, able to work collaboratively with others.
? Projects a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions.
? Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills.
