About the Job:
Reporting to sales, our fast-growing Sales Engineering (SE) team consults with customers and prospective customers of the Direct and Channel Sales groups, ensuring they are equipped to successfully deploy enterprise systems using Twilio?s APIs. At the front line of the company, the SE team is directly involved in solving difficult customer problems - from product design advice right through to network troubleshooting. Our team thrives on helping customers ship market-leading solutions across a wide variety of use cases.
Solutions Architects on the SE team collaborate with key prospects, customers and partners around the world; those who are solving very complex and sometimes new classes of problems using Twilio?s APIs. Twilio Solutions Architects act as experts in one of Twilio?s primary solution areas (CRM, Mobile, Call Center, Security, etc). The team is a key source of knowledge for Twilio?s R&D and Marketing groups.
The Solutions Architect role involves close collaboration with outside sales reps (Enterprise and Channel), and is likely to involve 20 percent travel.
Educate prospects and customers on what is possible with Twilio and the options for implementing common use cases. Provide in-person and online education to developers, product managers and business owners across multiple verticals.
Understand a customer?s business challenges. Provide well-informed guidance regarding the application of Twilio?s APIs and other supporting technologies to help the customer succeed.
Throughout a customer's implementation, act as the primary source of technical assistance.
Prepare demos and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate various use cases for Twilio's APIs. This can generally be performed in your programming language of choice but will occasionally be subject to the environmental requirements of the customer.
Assist developers to debug Twilio-related code in a variety of programming languages.
Document the architectural solutions that customers have designed and built under your guidance. Document common implementation patterns and provide feedback to Product Engineering and Marketing.
Following project deployment, continue to work closely with your customers and Twilio?s Support Engineering team to ensure operational success.
Evangelize Enterprise API adoption, acting as an industry thought leader at conferences, meetups and other public events.
5+ years experience in a consultative technical role.
You are a strong communicator. You are confident when sharing your knowledge in front of a highly skilled and experienced audience.
Professional experience in software development - as a Product Manager, Business Analyst, Software Engineer, etc.
A confident and experienced conference speaker.
It would be great if you built a Twilio app yourself before you come in to talk to us (hint, hint).
