As a member of the Sales team, the Solutions Consultant serves as the subject matter expert in sales cycles. Critical skill sets are familiarity with the challenges of marketing and sales leaders, plus an understanding of predictive analytics and machine learning concepts. This is a fast-paced, highly-visible, client-facing role that provides the opportunity to use a versatile set of skills, including:
Communicating a client-specific value proposition and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.
Understanding a client?s marketing and sales process, and being able to articulate solution recommendations in a domain-specific language.
Developing tailored and customized presentation content.
Leading Proof of Concept exercises using the prospect?s data.
Configuring and performing product demonstrations based on the client?s specific business needs.
Communicating client feedback to product management and engineering
Completing RFI/RFP responses?
Supporting Marketing efforts including setting up demos and presentations for exhibitions / conferences
Involves frequent client interaction and requires approximately 30% travel.
Desired Skills and Experience
Leading technical discussions with business and technical decision makers, including detailing technical specifications, product roadmaps, deployment, and third-party integrations
Domain knowledge of the Marketing and Sales function of major corporations
Familiarity with statistics, predictive analytics, and machine learning concepts
Experience working with data, databases, and data modeling
Familiarity with packaged application delivery and the SaaS model
Experience with marketing and/or sales applications?such as Eloqua, Marketo, or Salesforce?is a plus
Proven sales skills and an executive presence
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present complex concepts in an organized and articulate manner
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
The discipline to work in a regional office and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, high performance team
5 years or more of experience in a pre-sales/consulting role; or experience as a marketing practitioner
Work experience at a software company focused on marketing or sales applications is a plus
BA or BS required
