Solutions Design Director Axiom Law

We seek a Director to join our Solutions Design Team to help lead our Managed Services offering, initially focused on Managed Contracts Services, in the US market. The position will be based in our New York office and will report to the Executive Vice President of Managed Services, Rick Teague, who sits in New York.
Managed Services (MS) engagements are complex multi-person arrangements where Axiom is responsible for end-to-end service delivery. The largest and most strategic of Axiom?s Managed Services practices is Managed Contracts Services (MCS), where Axiom is the industry leader in designing and delivering end-to-end solutions for all or part of the contracts function in F500 companies. Typically there are four phases to a MS or MCS engagement: diagnostic, design, ramp-up and delivery. The diagnostic, design, and ramp-up phases are led by our Solutions Design Team ? a group that includes process engineers, management consultants, technologists and expert lawyers. Once operational, these dedicated client teams are led by very experienced Team Leaders (partner/General Counsel level), with ongoing involvement as needed by the solutions design team to help the team leader meet service level agreements and deliver continuous improvement.
The Director will:
Lead client diagnostic efforts, especially of both buy and sell side commercial contracts functions, within current and prospective F500 clients, leveraging Axiom proprietary tools, methodologies, and intellectual property. These diagnostics will combine surveys, data collection and analysis, interviews, and other qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Based on diagnostic findings, identify high priority areas for improvement for client?s legal departments.
Apply Axiom Managed Contracts solutions best practices to specific client situations to enable the outsourcing of client work, including modifications to a client?s current workflows, team structures, processes, and tools that will deliver significant improvements in quality, cost, and service levels.
Participate in early-stage sales activities, which are led by the Axiom Practice Management team, as a ?subject matter expert? and practitioner within our Managed Services team broadly and with deep expertise in our Managed Contracts Services.
Working in conjunction with the Axiom Practice Management team, develop appropriate sales materials and proposals.
Working in conjunction with the Axiom Practice Management team, build client understanding, confidence, and enthusiastic acceptance for proposed solutions, resulting in Axiom winning the proposed outsourcing contract.
Provide project management leadership and detailed solutions design (e.g., process flows, detailed tool design) as needed at the outset of a new client project ? as the team leader and delivery team are being assembled ? to ensure that new engagements get off to a strong start.
Contribute to building Axiom?s proprietary Intellectual Property in the rapidly changing Managed Contracts Services business area.
Operate within a collaborative environment with highly motivated colleagues and interact with all parts of the business, including Lawyer Hiring & Professional Development and all corporate functions (marketing, finance, HR, IT, etc.). Lead and contribute to altering and developing new internal workflows to accommodate new service offerings.
Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
Provide direct personnel management support for all UK-based Solutions Design team members.

5+ years of client service and problem solving leadership within a leading consulting firm or corporation, directly interacting with C-level decision makers in F500 companies
5+ years of direct management experience of a senior consulting, operations, or project management team
Relentless focus on client?s needs and consistently raises the bar on service excellence
Significant project management experience and meticulous attention to detail
Superb judgment, maturity and thoughtfulness
Thrives in both individual and collaborative team environments; demonstrated managerial success
Expert communication and presentation skills

Work experience as a lawyer at a top law firm and/or in-house corporate law department is a significant plus, but not necessary
